I made it very clear this morning to members of the state and national media that Barack Obama is wrong for Missourians and wrong for our country. As the New York Times quoted me today as saying, if selected by Democrats as their nominee, then Barack Obama will be "the HARDEST LEFT candidate ever nominated for president of the United States."

Peter will be standing up for hard-working Missourians today when Barack Obama brings his job-killing Show Me Tax Increases tour to Peter's hometown of Cape Girardeau. Peter is going to highlight Obama's numerous calls for higher income taxes, higher Social Security taxes, higher investment taxes and higher corporate taxes as well as Obama's call for massive new domestic spending.

We had some good news and bad news this week as the Legislature enters the final week of session. The good news for all of us is that the Legislature passed a bill to help bring the Bombardier aircraft plant to the Kansas City area. The Canadian aircraft maker would bring thousands of good paying jobs to Missouri and create the kind of economic development that has helped our state grow and prosper the last four years under Republican leadership.

Many Democrats are supporting Peter Kinder because of his leadership on issues such as school choice and downtown revitalization.  Political analyst Rodney Boyd joined the "Allman and Crane in the Morning Show" on 97.1 FM Talk to discuss Peter's growing support among Democrats in St. Louis.

Lawmakers approve $240M to lure Bombardier plant, St. Joseph News-Press.

"We are here to celebrate one of the greatest bipartisan successes of this year or any year," Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder said during a news conference. "We have not been in the game ... Missouri is back in the game."

 

Peter Kinder believes that honoring brave Missourians who give their lives in defense of our country is a sacred obligation, and this week that obligation was met by Missouri lawmakers.

A measure backed by Peter requiring flags at state buildings to be flown half-staff each time a Missouri soldier is killed in the line of duty has been sent to the Governor for his signature.

There were some disturbing developments last week regarding proposed funding cuts for a vital Missouri seniors program, but I want you to know that as Missouri’s Senior Advocate I am working hard to restore this funding. But I need your help today.

As Missouri’s Senior Advocate, Lt. Governor Peter Kinder this week strongly urged lawmakers to restore $1 million in funding for vital services that help improve the quality of life for thousands of Missouri seniors.

The lieutenant governor said that the vital programs save the state millions in Medicaid dollars because they help seniors remain independent rather than being forced to live prematurely in a long-term care facility.

Kinder Receives Bi-Partisan Black Support, PubDef. (video)

More than 100, mostly African-American and largely Democratic, supporters of Republican Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder came out last night to support his re-election bid.
